Amazing Race

So this Saturday we took part in the Amazing Race Williams Lake for Stella's 40th Bday. It was great fun and we all had a blast... we checked into the first pit spot as fourth.... we left as 8th/9. ( Apparently we wouldnt pass grade two with popsicle stick building!). The race went on and we checked into the next it stop 8th. Not bad, holding out our own..... until they called out our team and Greg was in the bathroom, and Brody and Duke were smoking, and I was like " WHERE IS MY TEAM?". So The last team got their clue and then we got ours. So we were off. Luckily, this was a hard clue "something about air Jordan and somewhere that rhymes with an air freshner"..... now there where many guesses..... Tree House.... Jackpine..... The AIRPORT!!!!!! Finally it ended up being Poplar Glade! We got there thinking we were in last place, low and behold we were fourth from last!!!!! We were so stoked, we all had to shoot hoops and we rocked it. We jumped in the Truck and headed out way on the road. There we were counting our kilometers then BOOM. A FREAKING DOG JUMPS IN FRONT OF OUR TRUCK. This was just about one of the saddest days of my life. I am not kidding you, we had just turned onto 12th ave, going only about 30km/hour and this stupid dog ran full speed in front of our truck and we smoked it. Drove right over it and slammed on the breaks. We all jumped out wondering what the hell just happened to us - and our wonderful mood- and realized there was a dog laying on the pavement, back broken. I sat with the dog and petted it as it took its final breaths. The owner came out and we tried to explain as I frantically called my friend to call a Vet for us. Needless to say, the say familly of "Buddy" was not too keen on talking with us, even after trying to explain that we were not driving fast and he jumped infront of us at the last second. We a sked if there was anything we could do or if they watned our number and they just wanted us gone. Well, what did Ali do? I BALLED. I felt SO bad for these owners I cried for probably an hour. I thought I had controlled myself and gotten through it until our pit stop when everyone looked at me withat "Aw, poor girl" face and I lost it again. Obviously this killed our competitive edge, and we came last, as we just didnt have it in us anymore. We are SO thankful for the wonderful day of Amazing Race, unfortunately, the sad accident happened, but what can you do. It makes you step back and appreciate the ones you love. My darling Ebi was ok at home, and I had never been so happy to go home and hug her. I am sorry for the sad story, but take it in a postive way and leave this blog with a new found love for those around you. Life is short, shorter then some plan - so make the best of it you can. I love you all.

And the Award goes to.......

Hello my little faithful blog checkers. I am sorry I am so bad for entries but thank you for still looking! I just a got a brand new hair do!!! Brody and I went to the Williams Lake Business of Excellence Awards on Saturday night, curtosy of the Radio Station. I got my hair done on Friday night, just in time! We had a great time. Food was awesome, and the comedian Kenny Shaw was SO FUNNY he is honestly the best I have ever seen. He had the whole place in tears! I recommend him very highly if you ever need to hire one (Dad).
